Functional Techniques dvd covers the most important technical points for motocross riders: positioning and feet control and legs, hips and core. It is critical to start with these points because learning them provides added speed control, stability, balance, efficiency and safety while on the motorcycle. Ryan Hughes' instruction is made up of the best techniques used by today's top riders.

Ryan Hughes is a legend, no question. His video is slightly less legendary though. Not bad, but it definitely has a bend toward motocross and four-stroke bikes. It's reasonable when you consider that most people probably race 4T's these days though. However, anyone who has raced a 2T knows they are a different animal. However, his basic theories covered in the DVD are sound and generally applicable to everyone. And it definitely leans more toward motocross than cross-country racing.
Overall, I think I would give it 3-1/2 stars but that wasn't a choice in the ratings pulldown menu.
