Product Description

Life Cycles DVD or Blu-Ray by Stance Films is one of the most visually stimulating Mountain bike movies to date... From the first images leaking out of Life Cycles editing bays, it’s easy to see this will be a Cycling dvd like no other: Cam McCaul back-flipping above a wheat field in Saskatchewan, Canada; shots of dust hanging in the air as Mike Hopkins charges down a steep slope of loose dirt. Life Cycles dvd is meant to be about the riders, and the deep connections they have with the bike. But it is also about the art of filmmaking and capturing unique, attention-grabbing action sequences. To achieve this, the film is being shot with the new high-definition Red digital cameras created by Oakley founder Jim Jannard.

Gibb and Frankowski first began discussing the project in 2004 and started shooting in the spring of 2007. Since then, they have amassed more than 1,000 gigabytes of raw footage—and they still have more than half of the film left to shoot. Life Cycles dvd or blu-ray will feature Darren Berrecloth, Mike Hopkins, Matt Hunter, Cam McCaul, Brandon Semenuk, Thomas Vanderham and several other top riders. In addition to Canada, the film was also shot in Iceland, Japan and the United States.

  1. Great short film

Posted by Robert on 15th Oct 2011

Being born and raised on a farm and now living in the city and being an avid mountain biker. This video really touched me on many levels. The scenery and the way it captures the changing of the seasons are incredible. They found the perfect narrator as well. Great short film.

  2. It is contagious like a smile.

This short film is visually stunning. The message and the music are both inspiring and poetic. Not what you would expect from a bike movie. Stunts are amazing. Appropriate for all ages. I've shown it to my Mother and my kids. My son took it to school because his teacher wanted to see it. She showed it to the junior high class.
